You aren't doing anything wrong it's just that the wrong headers get pulled in using CNR to install Vbox.
in a terminal type 'uname -r' then remove all but that header package. You might want to do this through Synaptic......by the way, if you don't have synaptic installed run 'sudo apt-get update' and then 'sudo apt-get install synaptic'. Search for kernel headers and remove all but the ones for the kernel you're actually running. Then try the install of Vbox using this guide instead of CNR.

Thanks Subslug, hopefully that will work. I was actually using apt-get to install it and not CNR but it must lookup CNR repos. |

That is correct, it never really installs correctly using either CNR or Apt. You'll want to install the newest version from Vbox anyway, just grab the All Distributions version from the source and install that one.

The only headers Synaptic is showing me are CNR ones. Will I need to edit my /etc/apt/sources.list to add some more deb repos? rob |

A synaptic install of virtualbox will work, as soon as apt is fixed by Freespire.
--I would install the kernel first, then virtualbox, unless they also fix the virtualbox selection for dependencies and get the correct kernel when virtualbox itself is installed http://forum.freespire.org/showthrea...box+synapti c --a while ago, but it did work.. snapshot of headers available |

I think apt might work despite what I said earlier but, you still need to remove all the headers except the ones for the kernel you are actually running, the Big Iron ones are wrong as are all but I think the latency ones.....? Run the uname -r command and that will tell you which ones you need. Vbox will never compile against the wrong headers.
