What can be used to substitute for IPX protocol for being able to play on LAN to connect to other Window users while playing games like Starcraft and WarCraft. I am using Wine. My son had a starcraft tournament and I needed to 2 more Computers, but they only had Linux distros on them.

Well it seems that Linux supports IPX but that I needs to be compiled into the Kernel (don't know if the Kernel you are running has IPX support build-in).

anyways, maybe this (http://tldp.org/HOWTO/IPX-HOWTO.html) provides you with some information ?

Thanks, Cloudy. I'll give it a read and try to figure out. I use various distros on my computers,s o maybe I can find one that has IPC built-in. I have never tried to compile anything yet. if it has been built into the kernel, what is it called and where do I look for it?

Sorry I can't help you with that (maybe a developer or Ken knows the answer to this).
