Does anyone pickup or check their E-mail on http://home.bellsouth.net/ ?

I had no problem getting the e-mail until Bell South became AT&T and they switched the web-site over to a new look. I can log in and do all the other things, like change my area code for whether reports.

I am using LOS 4.5 with the pre-packaged Internet Suite.

The E-mail works fine on my XP PC.

I like to check-through the E-mail blocked by the site's built in Spam blocker (MailGuard) because it is too aggressive. I do not like opening suspicious mail on any of my Windows computers in case there is a virus that can spring into action by clicking on the mail. The LOS system is resistant to viruses plus there is nothing on this LOS PC that can be compromised, so I don't mind looking at the suspicious E-mail with LOS 4.5.

You could try 5.0 live, I assume you have Lis set to leave messages on the server. Check that before logging into emal account.
Cheers

I am not trying to download the E-mail.

I only want to look at it on the Bellsouth site (with the virus resistant LOS) before I download it to an XP PC with ThunderBird.

I just download all of it to Los then delete what I don't want to keep. You may get more email that I do. About once a month I download what is left to win.

I am booted from a LOS 5 version2 Live CD and it didn't make any difference.

I just get a blank page when I go to my E-mail on the http://home.bellsouth.net site after logging in.

I guess I will call tech support and ask them, "Why doesn't the "New Improved Site" work with Linspire?"

If your outgoing BellSouth/AT&T mail is being "bounced" back from AOL, Earthlink, etc. destinations with mail undeliverable messages indicating the target "timed out" or was unavailable, you may be the victim of AT&T's inability to remove itself from a spam BLACKLIST.

Many e-mail servers subscribe to such "blacklists", and if the originating mail server (BellSouth, in this case) is on it, the target e-mail server won't accept the e-mail...thus, you will receive back from BellSouth a message that your e-mail has "timed out" and is "undeliverable".

See mxtoolbox.com and dnsstuff.com if you want to check if your mail server IP address is blacklisted. Be aware that some IP addresses are blacklisted as being part of a block of IP addresses. And the "mail exchange" IP address (mx00.mail.bellsouth.net and mx01.mail.bellsouth.net) associated with the numeric IP address can be blacklisted due to some spammer relaying their spam via BellSouth/AT&T.

A handy DNS - IP converter is at http://baremetal.com/cgi-bin/dnsip
