In your opinion what are the top ten games available in linux?

Commercial of GPL (or other Free licenses) ?

Or do you count both ?

I'm not a real gamer (on both Linux and Windows) but some of the games I own/play are (in no particular order).

1. Neverwinter Nights (Linux client so not NWN 2)
2. Unreal Tournament 2003 and 2004
3. Kohan (nice RTS from a few years ago).
4. Cold War (bought it from LPG or Tuxgames, it's a nice game but I don't realy play it as much as I shoud).
5. Uplink
6. Defcon (Everybody Dies).
7. Darwinia (people in the loop will know that 5,6 and 7 are from the same developer)
8. Hyperspace Delivery Boy (had a good time playing it).
9. Frozen Bubble (Offcourse)
10. Ankh

I also have some games from CNR (Postal, Postal 2, Candy Crunsher, Majesty Gold, ...)

And I recently (yesterday) downloaded Shredder (a commercial Chess engine) the DEMO version at the moment (not really sure if it's worth paying for Shredder Chess Classic 3 (or even for Shredder Chess 11).

Commercial Games:
Enemy Territory : Quake Wars
Doom 3
Quake 4
Unreal Tournament 2004
Neverwinter Nights
Regnum Online
X2 : The Threat
Vendetta Online
Tribal Trouble
Majesty

Not in any order.. Of course, if you are talking Open Source, that would be different.

I also have a bunch of blog entries here (http://www.travisbirt.com/category/computers/linux/games/) about Linux Games of different types.

X2 : The Threat

Tribal Trouble

Ah, Yes "Tribal Trouble" I also got that one (but I think it was stored on my crashed harddrive).

X2 has caught my eye but I don't think it's a game for me, Same goes for the Battlestar Galactica game (I tried the "behind the red line" Linux demo but it was to hard for me, also because of my NON-QWERTY keyboard).

You would be "old" if you would have said : "Escape from Castle Wolfenstein" (not NOT Return to Castle Wolfenstein aka RTCW)
or was the name just Wolf3D (Wolfenstein 3D) ? The sequel was "Spear of Destiny"

But offcourse that's not a Linux game (it was used for the movie "The Net" if I remember correctly though.

I'm not old at all, just saying Quake 3 isn't that old.

I guess in the "computer world" it's old.

I think it's like with dogs, what's just 1 jear for us is like 7 for a dog (maybe what's 1 year for us is like 10 years for a computer product (soft and hardware) ??)

TORCS
Quake III Arena
LBreakout

If you include games that play in Wine....

Half Life
Half Life: Opposing Force
Half Life: Blue Shift

To get Steam working so I could install the Half Life games I had to use Winetricks (http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks) to install the Gecko engine and for older versions of wine you also need the tahoma font, also installable with Winetricks. Also HalfLife in 9.4x versions of wine seems a bit quirky, with newer versions (9.6x+) it's supposed to work better.
